Spring Cleaning Your Quik n’ Crispy

Spring is here, and you know what that means: it’s time for spring cleaning! Your Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer is quick and easy to clean because there’s so much less oil than a traditional fryer, but there are still steps you should follow to make sure it’s clean for your customers and safe for you and your employees. First of all, are you cleaning your cooking basket and drip tray after each use? If you’ve neglected that, or just need a little refresher, check out the instructions here, starting on page 21. You’ll follow the same steps at the end of each day, plus a few additional steps meant to give your unit a more in-depth cleaning.

Deep cleaning a QnC unit basically means taking it apart, but don’t panic. There aren’t that many pieces, and we’ve put a lot of study and work into the design to make it easier to work with. Remove the following: oven basket assembly, drip tray, removable front panel, air plenum, and rear splashguard. Scrub them appropriately (see the PDF for detailed instructions) and either soak overnight or run them through a commercial dishwasher. Voila! Your QnC is good as new.

When followed properly and consistently, these cleaning steps will prevent buildup, damage, flavor transfer, and general grossness. Make it part of your business’ closing routine and make sure all your employees know how to do it–why not print out the pages of the manual and post it in your kitchen?
