Three Tips for Managing a Busy Snack Bar!

When running any sort of business that offers food as an additional service, it’s easy to let quality lapse and treat your food offerings as an afterthought! Long lines, impatient customers, and faulty machinery can all slow down service and result in a bad experience for all involved. Your snack bar should not only be a source of revenue, but also a place for customers to relax and enjoy themselves, so here are three tips to keep things running smoothly behind the bar!

  1. Keep things simple!

It may seem like having a wide variety of options for your customers to choose from is the smartest way to make the most profit, but in reality large menus increase customer decision time (slowing you down), require large stockrooms to hold all of the ingredients, and need a variety of space-wasting machines to prepare. Reducing large menus to items that can be prepared in one appliance (like fried pickles, sweet potato fries, and tater tots) can help provide customers with the choice they’re looking for while also saving you storage and counter space! Items like these are all snack bar favorites, but can also all be prepared in rapid air fryers like Quik N’ Crispy’s line of greaseless air fryers

      2. Streamline your processes

You already offer a set menu of items, so why not standardize your processes as well? If you have the staff, designate one person to run the register, one to cook, and one to serve customers! If staffing is an issue, consider shifting to an online ordering system that allows customers to order their food online and eliminate the need for a cashier.

      3. Advertise and promote!

Offering deals involving food, like family packs involving entertainment and food combos for a set price, is a great way to drum up business for your snack bar! These kinds of deals and promotions attract families to your business and can even inspire family traditions like Friday night pizza and fun at your establishment. These deals are also ideal for increasing business on nights or days that are typically slow, and can entice new customers to give your business a shot!

Take away sausaged being grilled at public food market stand.

Snack bars are still very alive and well in the family entertainment industry, but there’s no reason a busy one should bog you down! These tips will help you get your snack bar affairs in order, and remember that Quik N’ Crispy is here to help when you’re ready to upgrade your appliances!

Is Your Family Entertainment Center Ready for the Holiday Rush?

As the holiday season nears, family travel and entertainment budgets increase! This leads to a rise in business for family entertainment centers, as families are searching for places to celebrate the season with their loved ones. Whether you’re ready or not, the rush is coming. Make sure you’re prepared with these tips for managing the holiday rush!

  1. Staff up!

Make sure your staff is well-stocked with reliable, hardworking folks! If you could use a few more team members or have shifts with the bare minimum amount of people working, now is the time to put the word out and hire. Lots of people are looking for seasonal work and will be happy to help out, preparing you for the rush the holidays inevitably bring! Hiring early also means you will have first pick of the available talent in your area, eliminating the stress of playing catch-up once you realize you need holiday help and can’t find any.

      2. Get your facility in tip-top shape!

While the holiday rush is inevitable, it’s also conditional! Patrons will leave your business (and spend less money) if they’re not comfortable in the environment. Fixing broken or damaged equipment, cleaning EVERYWHERE that can be cleaned, and improving other areas guests interact with can make all the difference in retaining your customers once they’re in the door. Dirty seating areas, visibly disheveled kitchens, and non-functioning equipment can all cause guests to leave your business earlier than you’d like.

      3. Keep wait times short!

Shortening wait times is a fantastic way to lead to more profit. It seems simple, but the less time customers spend waiting (on food, entertainment, etc), the more time they can spend buying! One of the easiest ways to cut wait times at your family entertainment center is in the kitchen, starting by replacing conventional ovens with air fryers! Air fryers are faster, fry food without fry oil, and provide the same great taste as deep frying! When it comes to industrial-grade air frying, we have you covered with our lineup of Quik n’ Crispy greaseless Air Fryers

We hope you have a productive and profitable holiday season! Remember to keep lines short, attractions working, and customers happy as you navigate the stress and fun the year-end brings!

Air Fryer Recipes To Help You Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

‘Tis the season for making changes! As we head into the new year, it’s a great time to set goals for the coming months – and for many that means changing their approach to food and cooking! If any of these resolutions are on your to-do list, a Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer could be the key to long term success! With it’s endless menu possibilities, you’re sure to find a few new favorite recipes to help you achieve all of your goals in 2022!

Cook Seasonally

Looking to make the most of seasonal produce year round? Maybe you’re a farmer’s market maven, or you’ve finally mastered the art of growing your own backyard veggies. Whatever, the reason, cooking what’s fresh and in season is a great way to expand your palette and discover new favorite foods. In the spring, grab fresh artichokes and try out air fryer spinach and artichoke dip, or improve any lunch with air fryer carrot fries! Celebrate the flavors of summer with street style corn on the cob or recreate a southern favorite with a batch of fried green tomatoes. When the air starts to cool off, stay cozy with fall favorites like cheesy potato wedges, and stay warm all winter with apple pie fritters and pumpkin fries

Master Meal Planning

Studies show that meal prep can help save time and money, reduce stress, and improve your overall relationship with food. An air fryer is an excellent tool to help simplify your meal-prep process! Set aside some time at the start of each week to prepare a few favorites – these teriyaki meatballs make an awesome weekday lunch, and roasted chickpeas are always a great snack to reach for – and soon you’ll start enjoying the benefits of planning ahead!

Make Healthier Choices

If overall healthier food choices are your goal, an air fryer is your secret weapon! The Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer can give any kitchen a wellness overhaul, allowing you to prepare typically fried foods with 20-40% less fat and calories! From weeknight dinner classics like chicken fajitas and chicken tenders to more out of the box options like french toast sticks, your options are unlimited.

Increase Holiday Food Sales with Seasonal Treats from the Quik n’ Crispy

Seasonal Menu Ideas graphic with rosemary and holiday berries The holidays are all about warmth, generosity, making memories with friends, family, and neighbors… And food. So much good food! After all, how many of your holiday memories have to do with food; making it, eating it, sharing it with the people you love? From Christmas cookies and hot cocoa to holiday dinners (and those delicious Dagwood-esque holiday leftovers sandwiches), you probably have plenty of good memories associated with holiday foods… And so do your customers.

Consumers love seasonal treats, and you can look no further than Starbucks and Trader Joe’s to see that these limited-time offerings are wildly popular. So, how can you leverage this principle in your restaurant menu? Cater to that seasonal excitement by serving up holiday foods you can prepare in your Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer.

Sweet Treats

  • Cinnamon and sugar is a classic Christmas flavor combo, so go for the ten-inch churros from J&J Snack Foods. Warm chocolate or raspberry dipping sauce will make this treat even more festive, and provides an up-selling opportunity.
  • For an easy, hand-held treat that will warm hands as well as bellies, try the classic fruit turnovers by Lamb-Weston. These delicious goodies come in apple and cherry flavors, so your customers can choose their favorite fruit.
  • For even more variety, consider offering the Stuff n Puff crispy, stuffed bite-sized triangles. These come in so many flavors: cream cheese and apple, Bavarian cream, strawberry, apple, raspberry, and cherry. There’s something for everyone in this selection.

Savory Treats

  • Channel a festive holiday party atmosphere with items like Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers, Battered Mozzarella Sticks, and Mini Corndogs.
  • Invoke the excitement of Christmas morning with cozy breakfast items like Breakfast Pastry Puffs from Rich Specialty Products or Breakfast Sticks (pork sausage on a stick wrapped in a pancake) from State Fair Foods.
  • Eating Chinese food on Christmas is a long-standing Jewish-American tradition. Give a nod to it with menu items like Mini Egg Rolls, Wontons, and Potstickers.
  • Another fun way to add some holiday cheer to your menu is by creating a twist on a “classic” Christmas dinner. Combine items like Battered Yam Sticks, Broccoli & Cheese Puffs, and Fried Mac n’ Cheese to create a combination reminiscent of mom’s holiday casserole spread.

That’s not all that you can prepare in the QnC, of course! We’ve tested hundreds of items in our greaseless fryers. This is just a sampling of some of our favorites. Check out our full menu here and experiment ‘till you find your customers’ favorites. If you’d rather skip straight to the sweet stuff (and who could blame you during the holidays?) all the desserts are on page 34! When you cook in the Quik n’ Crispy, your customers get less of the unhealthy stuff but all of the taste!

3 Healthy Ventless Fryer Foods to Add to Your Menu

Stylish young woman holding leafy green vegetables in front of her face There are plenty of reasons to add a ventless hot air fryer to your restaurant kitchen, but one stands above them all: The food! If you’ve wondered what foods you can cook in a ventless greaseless fryer and whether or not they will benefit your menu, keep reading. These are just a handful of the healthy menu items you can offer your clientele when you have a Quik n’ Crispy

Healthy Options for the Ventless Fryer

Greaseless fryers (aka air fryers) are a popular addition to commercial kitchens due to their affordable cost, compact size, low maintenance and cleaning needs, and ease of use. But by far, the most common reason restaurants purchase greaseless fryers is in response to the healthy food trend. Customers these days expect the convenience of fast food and quick order joints, but they are also driving huge demand for healthier food.

Veggie Snacks

There has been a 500% increase in consumers self-identifying as vegan since 2014, and that number doesn’t even include vegetarians and people who follow a plant-based diet for health, religious, or environmental reasons. From Burger King rolling out the Impossible Whopper to social media influencers posting photos of their “Meatless Monday” meals, it’s clear that demand for plant-based foods is higher than ever.

Many restaurants struggle with adding vegetables to the menu, leaving veggie customers with just one or two options like french fries or a side salad. With a ventless air fryer, you can bulk up the meat-free portion of your menu with delicious dishes like tempura broccoli, battered cauliflower, okra, or mushrooms, zucchini fries, and veggie burgers.

Chicken Dishes

Even when it comes to meat, many consumers are looking for healthier protein options like grilled chicken in lieu of red meat. Our greaseless fryers make it easy to meet the demand for hot grilled items like chicken filets, chicken dogs or sausages, and chicken “burgers.” Practically any pre-cooked, ovenable frozen item can be prepared in a Quik n’ Crispy, giving it a hot, juicy, just-off-the-grill look and taste.

Lower-Fat and Calorie Versions of “Junk” Food

Life is all about balance, and let’s be honest: Man cannot live on grilled chicken breasts and salad alone. (At least not happily!) Our ventless air fryers allow you to serve up the fun, comforting, “junk foods” your customers are craving, with only a fraction of the fat and calories you’d find when cooking the same items in a deep fat fryer. Highlighting the health benefits of air fried food is a great way to sell corn dogs, egg rolls, french fries, and other foods that are often prepared using a deep fat fryer.

Don’t wait; purchase a commercial air fryer and upgrade your restaurant menu for 2021 with Quik n’ Crispy!

The Risks of Using a Deep Fryer—And Why You Should Switch to Greaseless

Closeup of intense flame against dark background Creating a successful commercial kitchen is all about finding the perfect balance. Is the space being used efficiently? Do the commercial appliances pull their weight? Are they easy to use, easy to clean and maintain, and most importantly, are they safe? If you’re using a deep fat fryer in your restaurant kitchen, keep reading to learn about the hazards of deep fryers—and the benefits of switching to greaseless fryers

Deep Fat Fryer Dangers

While most commercial kitchen equipment and appliances require some training to operate properly, few are as dangerous as deep fryers. Fryer oil is extremely hot, measuring from 370 to over 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and with such extreme heat, the potential for danger is exponential. The risks associated with commercial deep frying include:

Severe Burns

Deep fryer burns are a common occurrence in commercial kitchens, due to splashing and spitting hot oil. In fact, burns are one of the leading causes of workplace injury in the U.S. There are many cases of employees suing employers over severe burns sustained from working with deep fryers and cleaning the fryers and exhaust filters.

Many restaurant operators love our greaseless fryers because they are easy to operate, clean, and maintain, while being much safer than deep fat fryers.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

The vent hoods and exhaust fans necessary for deep fryers can malfunction, resulting in carbon monoxide poisoning. Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryers, on the other hand, do not require special vents or hoods.

Fire

You’ve probably seen the videos going around every Thanksgiving of people setting their homes, cars, and even themselves on fire while attempting to deep fry turkeys. Hot oil is no joke, and grease fires can be incredibly dangerous and destructive. Oil is highly combustible, and when boiling oil comes into contact with water, it can splash unpredictably, spreading the fire around even more. Many a restaurant has burned down due to a grease fire.

Reasons to Switch to a Greaseless Fryer

With so many deep fryer hazards (not to mention the negative health effects of deep fat frying), it’s easy to see why many restaurant owners and managers have switched to greaseless fryers. Greaseless fryers, or air fryers, allow restaurants to serve up the tasty fried foods customers love, without the mess, hassle, and hazards inherent to deep fryers. Easy to operate, easy to clean, and easy to maintain, our compact greaseless fryers give you the most bang for your buck, especially small commercial kitchens.

4 Practical Tips for Creating a Healthier Restaurant Menu This Year

The global wellness industry was valued at over $4 trillion in 2018, and since then the demand for wellness goods and services has continued to increase. With that in mind, as well as the health goals many people have set for themselves in 2021, right now is an opportune moment to give your restaurant menu a health and wellness overhaul. Healthier, tastier food is what we’re all about, so we’re sharing some healthy menu tips for restaurants!

How to Give Your Restaurant Menu a Healthy Overhaul

Switch from a deep fat fryer to a greaseless fryer.

While fried foods are delicious, they’re usually also high in saturated fat, trans fat, and calories—not exactly the ingredients for a healthy diet. But often, fried foods are some of the best sellers on a restaurant’s menu so… What gives?

That’s where we come in. The Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer can give any commercial kitchen a wellness overhaul, allowing you to prepare typically fried foods with 20-40% less fat and calories! (Not to mention, less mess and easier cleanup than conventional deep fat fryers!) Adding these air fried foods to your menu—and promoting them as such—is a great way to keep the attention of diners who are looking for good, healthful meal options.

Meet the demand for plant-based foods.

The number of people eating a vegetarian or vegan diet has exploded in recent years, with formerly-obscure foods like tofu and veggie burgers finding acceptance among health-conscious shoppers. Whether for environmental, health, or animal rights issues, consumers are demanding meat and animal-product-free options when they patronize restaurants.

With a Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer, you can offer a variety of tasty, plant-based treats like zucchini fries and veggie egg rolls

Call attention to healthy options.

Healthier menu items don’t matter if your customers don’t notice them, so a key part of any menu overhaul should be bringing attention to them. Marketing is key, so think about your target demographics and what they’re looking for when selecting a restaurant. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Create a “light” section of your menu to showcase lower-calorie options.
  • Denote your healthiest dishes or vegetarian/vegan dishes with a leaf or other symbol, or a different font color.
  • Mention your greaseless fryer in your marketing efforts, and/or place some information about the benefits of greaseless frying in your menu.

Increase fresh foods while decreasing food waste.

Dealing with fresh produce is one of the most challenging aspects of running a commercial kitchen, so some restaurants shy away from including fresh vegetables and fruits. However, by carefully selecting produce that can be used for multiple menu items, you can reduce food waste while adding important nutrients to the meals you produce.

6 Ways to Acquire More Restaurant Customers

Woman sitting on sofa ordering food on phone and laptop The restaurant business has always been a challenging one, but over the last year, restaurants of all types were put to the test more than ever before. From casual, quick-service cafes to fine dining, mom-and-pop shops to corporate chains, the coronavirus pandemic has taken a major toll. While the pandemic is far from over, the rollout of vaccines is a light at the end of the tunnel. Add in the start of a new year, and it makes for the perfect time to evaluate your restaurant business and plan some new strategies for 2021. We’re sharing some ideas for how to get more restaurant customers, as well as how to keep them coming back for more!

How to Get More Restaurant Customers

  • Identify “your people.” Who are your target customers? While universal appeal would be nice, you should really be able to narrow it down to a handful of customer profiles that are your main focus. Your target demographic depends on many factors, like location (downtown business district vs. residential area), hours of operation, style of food, price point, etc.
  • Find out where they are (in-person and online) and get in front of them. Exposure matters! Social media has become an even more crucial part of the restaurant business, so posting to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter should be an important part of your marketing strategy. You’ll typically find younger folks (Gen-Z and Millenials) on Instagram, Snapchat, or TikTok, while older adults (Gen-X and Boomers) are more likely to hang out on Facebook. Posting regularly to your social profiles and keeping your information up to date (especially your hours!) is important. And don’t be afraid to dabble in paid ads! It’s easy to boost posts, create offers, or share #sponcon (sponsored content) on Facebook and Instagram.
In the physical world, you can also target potential customers by placing flyers on cars outside of gyms, salons, or other businesses catering to your ideal customer group.
  • Make your presence known. Check to make sure that your restaurant is listed in directories and guides, like the local chamber of commerce or downtown directory. Team up with other local businesses for cross-promotion.
  • Offer coupons or promotions. A coupon for a free appetizer with takeout orders over a set amount is sure to catch the eye of potential customers, and once they’ve tried your restaurant for the first time,  you may become part of their regular rotation.
  • Get on the online ordering and delivery apps. If you haven’t already gotten on GrubHub, DoorDash, Postmates, UberEats, etc. it’s way past time to jump on the bandwagon. Making yourself available for delivery and takeout via apps can open up a whole new audience of potential customers.
  • Set yourself apart. People are looking for healthy options, but no one wants to sacrifice taste or convenience. You can deliver both by adding an air fryer to your commercial kitchen, allowing you to serve up tender, flaky, ovenable foods that taste even better than their traditionally deep-fried counterpoints.

Ready to refresh your business with some new approaches for 2021? Good luck from all of us at Quik n’ Crispy, and here’s to a prosperous new year!

Top Reasons Why Customers Choose (and Love) Our Greaseless Fryers

There are many reasons to add a greaseless fryer or “air fryer” to your restaurant kitchen, but what’s the best commercial fryer to choose? Well, we may be just a little biased, so don’t take our word for it. These are some of the reasons to choose a Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer—straight from the mouths of our happy customers!

Why You Need a Quik n’ Crispy Greaseless Fryer

Superior Taste

Eliminating the excess oil of conventional deep frying by switching to a greaseless fryer isn’t just healthier—it also results in light, fluffy, delicious foods that just taste better! That’s why vegan burger joint DoppleGanger serves up their fries from multiple Quik n’ Crispy units. It’s also why we receive emails like these:

“We use a QnC fryer on our food truck, it is amazing. Our customers love that they taste the food and not the grease. Thank you so much for your help in making our dreams come true. You guys are the best.” Tracy Bronner

“I can’t say anything other than, WOW! I must admit that I am truly impressed. The food was crispy and the best way I can describe it is that the chicken was crispy and fluffy, without that heavy oil taste that normally accompanies fried food.

I’m sure that you’ve heard all of this before, but honestly, I don’t impress easily. Even almost 30 minutes later, the fries were still somewhat crispy even though they had cooled to room temperature. Honestly, aside from the fact that the food doesn’t have that heavy greasy fried taste, it didn’t get soggy. There’s no grease.

Like I said, I’m a skeptic. I watched your videos and my first thought was, “I’m sure it’s not that great…” A believer was made out of me.”

Easy to Clean

Of course, the flip side of putting out delicious, crowd-pleasing food is cleaning up the kitchen. Commercial kitchens need to work as hard as you do, and that includes making clean-up simple and quick. Fortunately, our greaseless fryers are not just quick to cook—they’re also quick and simple to clean.

“I just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how much we like the air fryers we purchased from you. We’ve been open 3 months now. We have made over 2,500 French fries, over 1,000 onion rings, pickle fries, chicken tenders, pita chips and much more. The air fryers are great and we continue to keep them very clean using your dip tank cleaner.” Dan Kopronica, Compassionate Friends Homecare

“Everything is going great with the QNC and it does exactly what we were hoping it would do! We actually have plenty of cleaning supplies left since we have not been open as much due to COVID19 but the cleaning methods that you guys go over in the example videos have been working great and our QNC looks great after a good cleaning. Feel free to put me down as a contact for new customers.
Collin McCracken

“The employees here at Skate Galaxy love our Quick-n-Crispy ovens. Many sessions are so busy we wish we had a total of four ovens to keep up with the demand from our customers for the many different items we offer in the food court. We use the ovens to cook hamburgers, chicken wings, french fries, cheese sticks, pretzels and several other items. Clean up is so easy and we don’t have to worry about having grease to clean up and dispose of. We will for sure always have a Quick-n-Crispy oven and highly recommend if you don’t have one, you should!”

How to Keep Your Greaseless Fryer Running Like A Well-Oiled Machine

Yellow gloved hand holding blue microfiber cloth on white surface You’ve got your new commercial fryer and you’re ready to start serving up hot, delicious foods that your hungry patrons will love. Before you drop your first batch of french fries or chicken tenders, make sure you know how to maintain your greaseless fryer! We specifically engineered the Quik n’ Crispy greaseless fryer to be easy—easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to reassemble. Keep reading to learn some important maintenance tips for your commercial air fryer, and don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions about your Quik n’ Crispy!

Maintaining Your Greaseless Fryer

Why Maintenance is Important

Keeping your greaseless fryer clean and maintained is the best way to ensure that your investment lasts for years. In addition to keeping the fryer running smoothly, you’ll also want to clean it regularly to ensure that the food you’re serving is consistently delicious. A dirty, poorly maintained fryer can cause food to taste bad or put out unpleasant smells. Failure to clean and maintain the fryer can even present a fire hazard in extreme cases! Fortunately, it’s not too complicated, time-consuming, or expensive to maintain your greaseless fryer. All you need is your handy owner’s manual and some basic tips.

Daily Cleaning

One of the most important things you can do to keep your greaseless fryer running smoothly for years to come is to clean your machine as directed every day. We’ve made it as quick and intuitive as possible so that the fryer can be dismantled in five minutes or less, and because our fryers are made with durable stainless steel, you can use

Each day, you’ll need to dismantle these parts of the fryer and place them in a sink or soaking container to be cleaned.

  • Front panel
  • Carbon and grease filters
  • Drip tray
  • Tray guides
  • Cooking basket
  • Air plenum

To make this daily task even easier, check out our convenient greaseless fryer cleaning kits that contain a soaking tub, brush, scraper, gloves, and soaking chemicals.

Weekly Cleaning

Once a week, in addition to the daily cleaning mentioned above, you’ll also need to remove the splash guard from the back of the cooking chamber and scrub it along with the rest of the parts.

While the cooking chamber is empty, spray it with a heat-activated oven cleaning spray to remove carbon buildup. You should then be able to quickly wipe it clean, and you’re ready to reassemble your fryer with the freshly-cleaned parts after soaking and scrubbing them.

Replacement Parts and Warranties

Any appliance will need to have a part replaced here and there over its lifetime, but don’t worry about hunting down obscure, expensive parts. We sell replacement parts for our commercial greaseless fryers, as well as a new 3 Year Extended Warranty for customers who want some additional peace of mind.
